About Kristin
With over fifteen years of experience in clinical social work settings, Kristin now works exclusively with individuals and couples in her private practice serving the greater Grand Rapids, Michigan area.
A graduate of Calvin College and Michigan State University, Kristin's professional experiences include medical social work at Spectrum Health Hospitals in Grand Rapids, Michigan, followed by six years as an outpatient therapist at Wellspring Counseling and Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. During these years, she was a regular guest and blogger on WOOD TV8 Maranda "Where You Live", with contributions focusing on family health and relational wellness.
Kristin continued refining her relationship expertise at the world-renown Gottman Institute in Seattle, WA. Following extensive training which included Drs. John & Julie Gottman, she became a Certified Gottman Therapist in 2013. She became a certified Gottman Workshop Presenter in 2015. She now hosts and presents clinical trainings for professionals and workshops for couples to the West Michigan community, co-presents around the US with her Gottman colleagues, and staffs The Art & Science of Love Workshop with the Gottmans in Seattle each year.
In addition to her therapy work, Kristin holds experience as an adjunct instructor of social work at Calvin College and has provided workshops and trainings to church, college, and community groups focused on relationship health. Kristin is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and is a Licensed Masters Social Worker (Clinical Concentration) in the State of Michigan.
Kristin's passion for vibrant relationships begins at home. She enjoys spending time with her family, connecting with friends, is an avid runner, and loves the outdoors.
